Use secure connections for authentication
Most recent versions of Power BI Desktop use the latest version of the Active Directory Authentication Library (ADAL), which does not allow a redirect to non-secured URLs.
As a measure of precaution, let your administrator know he should check that secured URLs are used for their authentication sites.
